ESL to mount first Dota 2 Major, ESL One Hamburg 2017
Posted by Caisam Yvez Nopueto October 25, 2017

ESL One Hamburg will commence from Thursday until Sunday this weekend, and it will be the first Major for the 2017-2017 Dota 2 Pro Circuit. It will feature a prize pool of USD 1,000,000, and a whopping 1500 total Qualifying Points (QPs) Pool — this will give the champions 750 QPs per member, five times what champions get from winning a Dota 2 Minor.

The said tournament will also feature The International 2017 finalists Newbee and champions Team Liquid as directly invited teams. The remaining six teams to complete the total eight-team lineup will come from the six major regional qualifiers: North America, South America, China, Europe, CIS, and Southeast Asia (where Fnatic had to replace Happy Feet because of VISA issues). The Grand Champions will be taking home USD 500,000 and 750 QPs per member, while the second placer will take home USD 200,000 and 450 QPs per member. Lastly, 3rd-4th placer will take home USD 90,000 and 150 QPs per player.
