Mineski qualifies for another Minor LAN; defeats TNC 3-1 to score Captains Draft 4.0 berth

Mineski continues their Southeast Asia domination as they qualified for yet another LAN Minor: after a 3-1 commanding victory over TNC, they have qualified for Captains Draft 4.0 Minor. They will be playing for the said LAN tournamnet on January 4 2018.

Captains Draft is a different tournament compared to other Dota 2 Minors or Majors because of the game mode that the teams will be playing under. Captains Draft will only allow for 30 heroes from the whole pool (10 STR, 10 AGI, and 10 INT heroes) randomly selected and changed every game.

The first game started really well for TNC Pro Team, after winning a very close Game 1. Carlo “Kuku” Palad’s mid-lane Luna went way too big for the rest of Mineski too handle, particularly its innate potential to push down towers. The objective taking definitely favored the side of TNC in the long run, and TNC were able to win the game in 41 minutes.

While TNC were able to get signature Queen of Pain for Kuku, Mineski drafted themselves around  Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung’s comfort Medusa pick. Through many strategic neutral camp stacks, Mineski were able to make Mushi super farmed carry with 19,000 gold networth by 32 minutes — only  Marc Polo Luis Raven Fausto came close from TNC, but he only had 11,000 networth. While Raven had decent amount of mid- to late-game impact, Mushi came out too strong with his Medusa. Mineski tie the series 1-1.

Mineski then jumped on the back of  Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang’s Doom come Game 3. Raven once again was on a roll, and this time with Luna, farming ever so consistently to a point where he is the most farmed hero all throughout the game. Then again, the rest of Mineski were team fighting around Death Prophet and Faceless Void, and iceiceice was far too dominant for TNCiceiceice did not die the whole game, and his clutch usage of the Doom on Kuku‘s Dragon Knight (after Kuku bought back and before he was even able to pop his Dragon Form nor his Black King Bar).

Mineski then proceed to stomp TNC come Game 4. Despite TNC having a really good pushing lineup around Jakiro and Pugna, Mineski definitely had the better team-fight composition. Most especially after iceiceice again shined for Mineski, constantly landing multiple-hero Hoof Stomps with his Centaur Warrunner. Kam “Moon” Boon Seng proved to be still really solid with the Mirana while Mushi‘s utility carry Silencer also popped well-timed Global Silences which made it sure that Mineski always won skirmishes. With no scaling Position 1 for TNC — who actually drafted a Position 1 Jakiro for Raven — they just threw in the towel after 28 minutes of brutal game time.
