Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Release Date Revealed

Activision has officially announced that 2018’s Call of Duty game would be a new Black Ops title. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is already in development and will be launched globally later this year. This is also the first Call of Duty game in recent memory that will be released earlier than the release window that we’re used to.

The new Black Ops game will be on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and there are no details revealed about a Nintendo Switch version, leaving some fans disappointed. The game will be released globally on October 12, a full month ahead of when Call of Duty titles regularly hit store shelves. Activision has confirmed in its statement that Treyarch, the studio behind the entire Black Ops series, is currently working on the game.

Other than Black Ops 4’s release date, the publisher has not revealed anything else about the game itself, its campaign, and multiplayer modes. We can expect to know more about the upcoming game on May 17, when Activision will reveal the game publicly during a special event. There is also some speculation that PC users will use Blizzard’s Battle.Net for online multiplayer, seeing as how users can now link their Call of Duty accounts to Battle.Net after the Black Ops 4 announcement.

In other news, Black Ops 3 suddenly received a content update a while back, leading most fans to think it teased a possibility of a sequel for the game.
