Dauntless Open Beta coming this May

Dauntless is a free-to-play monster hunting RPG currently in closed beta. Developer Phoenix Labs announced today that Dauntless will be undertaking its first open beta testing phase on May 24, 2018.

While the game will be completely free when it enters open beta, as well as its official release, closed beta access was limited to those who purchased Founder’s Packs, the most affordable of which costs $40. The Founder’s Packs will no longer be available to purchase once the open beta begins.

Dauntless is a game loosely based after Monster Hunter. Gamers play as a Slayer and hunt Behemoths, farming resources and materials for new equipment from loot drops. While you can play Dauntless alone, missions or “hunts” are supposed to be played in teams of four.

Since its closed beta started, Dauntless has been receiving multiple major updates that improved the game in many ways. This game is definitely one to watch if you’re a fan of Monster Hunter.
