MSI 2018: Flash Wolves secure the first Semifinals spot

Day 3 was unlike any other day in the 2018 Mid-Season Invitational as it was a roller coaster of a ride for the teams, well except for the Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau champion, Flash Wolves.

The Flash Wolves was the only team to go 2-0 in Day 3, continuing to show their dominance in the Rift regardless of the opponent. They faced the Korean champions, Kingzone DragonX and Vietnamese champions, EVOS Esports.

In a match-up that many would expect Kingzone to win, it was Flash Wolves instead that turned on the turbo at 22 minutes and started picking off Kingzone members. The Korean squad tried to inch closer by taking down objectives but it simply delayed the inevitable, as Flash Wolves closed it out in 42 minutes. EVOS, on the other hand, kept close from the get-go but nonetheless failed to give the champions from Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau their first loss in the Group Stage. These two wins gave the Flash Wolves a secured spot in the Semifinals.

On the other side of the group, the North American champions, Team Liquid finally got their first win as they opened their day with a win against the Chinese champions, Royal Never Give Up. The North Americans were unable to use the momentum though as they closed out the day watching Kingzone Dragon X destroying the Nexus.

European champions, Fnatic and Royal Never Give Up ended the day tied at 3-3 in the table but the Chinese squad has a 2-0 in the head-to-head in the matchup as they dominated the Europeans in their last game of the day.

EVOS ended Day 3 with 2 loses after losing an exciting close game against Fnatic and closing out their day against the Flash Wolves.

Kingzone DragonX opens the day against Royal Never Give Up as the Group Stage comes to a close today. With the Semifinals around the corner and only four teams moving on, each win or loss will be crucial for the teams.
