Newbee Slays LGD.Forever Young: 2-1

Newbee defeated LGD.Forever Young in a best-of-3 series. Newbee were able to take Game 1 and Game 3 while LFY was able to win Game 2. Newbee has now secured a spot in the Grand Finals.

Game 1 was a long, intense matchup between the two teams. The heated battle lasted 52 minutes and 22 seconds with a final score of 24-28 in favor of Newbee. The game started off in favor of Newbee securing first blood. They were able to gain a slight early game advantage and sustain an economic gap around the 15 minute mark. During mid game, LFY was able to bounce back and gain the economic advantage with a score of 14-10 in favor of LFY. LFY fought full steam ahead and had superior rotations across the board forcing Newbee to stay within their base. After numerous trades leading into the late game, Newbee was able to gain the advantage by trading 4-0 around the 43 minute mark in the northern jungle. A 3-1 trade in favor of Newbee followed shortly after in the southern jungle forcing Du “Monet” Peng to buy back and Song “Sccc” Chun to lose Aegis. At the 43 minute mark, Newbee were able to successfully intercept a Roshan attempt by LFY. This pivotal team wipe allowed Newbee to secure the victory shortly after.

Game 2 ended a lot faster than Game 1 clocking in at only 33 minutes. The final score of 37-15 in favor of LFY. Xie “Super” Junhao on his Storm Spirit and LFY.Monet on Clinkz gave incredible performances during this match with a 17-3 and 13-3 record respectively. Hu “kaka” Liangzhi on Earth Spirit, Damien “kpii” Chok, and Zeng “Faith” Hongda on his Warlock were shut down numerous times throughout the match allowing LFY to gain the advantage. LFY started building momentum early with a score of 7-3 at the 15 minute mark. Shortly after, LFY.Super scored an incredible ultra kill that lead to a critical team wipe that cemented their early game advantage. Newbee attempted Roshan after respawning and LFY was able to prevent them from securing Aegis. LFY.Super managed to claim a double kill during the pivotal clash. At 22 minutes, the score was 23-11 with the tower advantage in favor of LFY. At this moment the game was already decided and Newbee was not able to fight back despite their best efforts.

The final game of the series between Newbee and LFY lasted 48 minutes and 10 seconds with a score of 14-41 in favor of Newbee. Early game was heavily in favor of Newbee securing a 10-1 lead over LFY. Arguably having the stronger lineup, Newbee was able to sustain their momentum throughout the entire match. The turning point of the match happened at the 30 minute mark when Newbee wiped out LFY and quickly went for Roshan right after. Newbee were able to gain a 16k gold advantage. In the following minutes, LFY.Monet put on a good show by prolonging the game to the best of his abilities. His best efforts were not enough as Newbee were still able to push the middle lane and forced LFY to call GG at the 48 minute mark.
