ArkAngel crowned MPL Season 3 champions!
Posted by cmsadminGG May 27, 2019

After six weeks in the regular season and two days of playoffs action, ArkAngel flew high as they took home the crown in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League – Philippines Season 3.

ArkAngel started Season 3 of the MPL with the major addition of the former Execration player, Jeff Franklyn “Jeffqt4ever” Anaya. This roster change was complemented by former ArkAngel WickedMinds tank/support player, Brian “Panda” Lim moving to the coaching position.

These changes were immediately felt as the team found themselves at least within top three throughout the regular season. In the end, ArkAngel settled in second with a 15 win – 6 loss record and 20 points just a couple of wins behind Bren Esports who came out of the regular season as the number one team.

ArkAngel faced Evos PH in the Upper Bracket semifinals and despite the series going the distance, it was jeffqt4ever and ArkAngel that came out on top. Waiting for them in the Upper Bracket Finals was Bren Esports. The clash between the top two teams was epic but ultimately ArkAngel earned their spot in the Grand Finals after dominating the early game and muscled their way to the base of Bren Esports.

Following the loss in the Upper Bracket finals, Bren Esports fell to the Lower Bracket Finals where they faced the defending champions, Cignal Ultra. Both teams took a game apiece but it was Bren Esports that controlled Cignal Ultra game 3 series to set a rematch of the Upper Bracket Finals.

ArkAngel and Bren Esports, like in the Upper Bracket Finals traded blows and forced the series to a decisive Game 5. It was in here that ArkAngel decided to surprise everyone with a Gusion pick. An early three-man tower dive in the top lane put two quick kills on board for Gusion and began a snowball for Kyle “Ryo” Berceño and ArkAngel. With Jayson Rafael “Jay” Torculas on his Kaja leading the charge, ArkAngel closed out the series and their heroic run as champions of MPL-Philippines Season 3.

Along with taking home the crown, ArkAngel also took home USD 25,000 (around PHP 1,300,000).

Both ArkAngel and Bren Esports will also be representing the country in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup 2019 which will be held in Manila, Philippines.
